Parts of the region’s capital, it is located in Mwanza District in a latitude range of -5.611378, In October 1, 2012, MCC split into two authorities, New MCC and IMC, through the Local Government Act No. 7 of 1982. IMC was established to perform local government functions in Ilemela.
IMC Full Councils are responsible for how their communities function outside of the council’s administration. They have political, economic, and social responsibilities over their functions within the community. It has a representative organ known as Full Council that allows it to make decisions on how its localities function.
Like large corporations around the country, IMC is a perpetual body, meaning they have no end. They don’t die like natural people. The council has an official seal which is like a signature of a natural person and in its corporate name can sue and be sued, borrow, hold, purchase and dispose any movable or immovable property and make by-laws.
