The company operates various power plants, including hydroelectric, thermal, and natural gas plants, and has a transmission network that spans over 11,000 km.
TANESCO’s mission is to provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity services to its customers in Tanzania. The company is committed to promoting economic growth and development in the country by providing access to electricity to households, businesses, and industries.

To address these challenges, TANESCO is implementing various strategies, including expanding its generation capacity through new power projects, upgrading its transmission and distribution networks, and improving its revenue collection system.
Overall, TANESCO plays a vital role in Tanzania’s development by providing electricity services to its citizens and supporting economic growth and development in the country.
